I’m late for this, but there was a second mini challenge posted for the July Book Blowout.

1. Title and author of the book

Eat, Pray, Love by Elizabeth Gilbert

2. What year is the book set in?

I have no idea, but sometime after the Iraq war started.

3. What happened on this day in that year? Go to google and type in the date ie 13 July 1952 and see if you can find a news item for that day

Unfortunately, this doesn’t apply.

4. Where is your book set?

US, Italy, India, and Indonesia.

5. Have you visited that place before? If yes tell us something about your trip. If no, look the location up on google and tell us an interesting fact about the city/country.
I’ve never been to any place mentioned in the book but I’d love to visit India and Italy.

Fact about Italy
: The modern Italian language is actually based off of the dialect Dante used in his writing. So you could say Italian is “Dantean”. Prior to this being declared the national language Italy was broken up into several city states – each speaking a different language/dialect. When the idea of unification started floating around it was decided that one language was needed for unity, so officials picked the most beautiful sounding of all dialects.

Fact about India: In the 1830s, the Taj Mahal was scheduled to be torn down.
